The role of Branch Manager
An estate and letting agent Branch Manager has responsibility for the overall performance and profitability of the sales or lettings business at the branch.

Responsibilities would include managing the team of negotiators and admin staff, maintaining regular contact with clients, carrying out viewings and market appraisals and negotiating with landlords. If you're applying to a larger firm, you would usually report to the Area Manager with all staff working at the branch reporting to you.

Skills you'll need
You will need a proven track record working within an estate agency business, either on the lettings or sales side. Ideally you will have a detailed knowledge and insight into the local lettings market. You will be confident at generating business and your negotiating skills will be first class.

This is a role suited to highly motivated individuals who are comfortable working on their own initiative. You must have excellent communications skills, an efficient and friendly manner and a strong commitment to customer care.

You will be a natural team leader who is able to get the best out of your team. It is up to you to monitor the overall and individual performance of all member of the lettings team and look after staff training and appraisals.

Excellent organisation skills are a given and you must have the drive and ability to thrive working in a fast paced, target driven environment.
